7 years ago we bought our loaded 97 Silverado 2WD extended cab with 126,000 kms for about $6000. It now has 273,000, original paint still has a nice shine and is not rusty. I constantly have people telling me they would give me that money for it if I would sell it to them. I tend to agree with them when I look at used pickups for sale. Around here it's $3000 minimum to buy a rusty 96-98 that is safetied.

You are probably right on Carl with what you could get for your truck. There's a rust free 98 for sale in Moncton for the same price but it has a 4.3

I visited Carl at the Morris Triangle years ago in a black '98 C-10 that I used tp pull my car trailer but being a 2wd, it was useless pulling cars from the weeds. So I went on the look for a K-2500 gas. I didn't find one of those but I found a 6.5 diesel that required engine work... I hate diesels but this was out of necessity and and not choice. I found one @3hrs west of me, trailered it home and replaced the heads, back window and had it inspected... It was an Alberta truck that went to BC so it was in very nice condition. It had @313,000kms on it when I got it. I paid $1600.00 for that truck.. So far, so good.

The '98 was a 5.7 gas and was in terrific condition as well.. I ended up selling that truck to a guy in the 'Peg.

I had an 89 1/2 ton with a 6.2 and a five speed. Not much power but high 20s gas mileage. It finally died due to frame rust. I would like to find another one.

And 2500 Suburban/Yukon XL 09 -13, the SUV's didn't change bolt pattern like the pick ups in '10. I have a set as summer rims for my 03 Yukon XL.

My favorite OEM 17" wheel

My 92 GMC drove in the city back in the 90's but had to sell and get a 4x4 when we moved out here in '05.

Wow that brings back memories. We installed so many of those running boards on new pickups in that era.
