In the early 90's our dealership suffered an extreme rainfall, some of the new cars suffered flood damage. They were picked up by a GM appointed car hauler and apparently donated to auto shop classes.

Its strictly a business decision, cost prohibitive to start stripping off good parts, how many hours and staff needed for that....tons and tons.

The waste I saw by General Motors during 40 years working at two dealerships was amazing. Many times I just shook my head, speechless.
