The leading bidder is a fella out of Sarnia.

He's purchased 2 (yes 2) low mile GNXs in the last couple months.

He's after his third.

I'm originally from the Sarnia area, but I don't know this fella personally.

I know he owns/runs a popular auto body shop and variety store.
I also know he's been selling off a lot of his existing collection to make space for and fund these Buick's.
I'm also a member of the local Sarnia Street Machines car club and his recent purchases has been a very
a popular topic amongst the other members. Good for him.

Regards, Scott (LandShark ...)

At this point theyre investments. Unless he has one with some mileage on it.

His plan was to drive the one that has the highest mileage.

His others have 759 miles and 1190 miles.  Both purchased in Nov. 2021.

An hour to go on the current BaT auction and he' still leading.

Just watched the last few bids go from 181,000 increasing by $1000.00 each time with the 2.00 minute clock restarting after each bid was confirmed.  The second last bid was submitted with 10 seconds left.

Watched with interest for the last bid

SOLD  $188,000.00

Thought it might hit 190,000.

Yes, 188 large. Not to the person who bought the other ones.

Theres a low mileage GNX at BJ Scottsdale this week. Wonder if hell go after that one as well? I know they are rare but a new camero ,mustang, challenger would blow the doors off that for well less than half the money and still have a warranty. After watching Mecum auction from Florida I wont be going back to BJ in Scottsdale again

I was quite shocked at the price, though I suppose understandable for a low mileage, low production car?  I don't have much of a connection to the GNX, as I don't even recall ever seeing one in person.  I think most people who bought them must have socked them away from new as an investment, which appears to be paying off now.  I couldn't buy a new car and then never drive it, though, it's just not in me.

Agree on buying a new Camaro/Mustang/Challenger instead.  Much better cars to drive, nicer looking (IMHO), faster, etc.  I just see so much out there that I would like better, for much less money.  Wouldn't buy a Raptor either...biggrin  To each his own, though.

I was listening to the Mecum podcast today. They said the Kissimmee auction that just passed broke their all time record for sales. Over $200 million! Almost double what they did at last years Kissimmee auction. Looks like with inflation going crazy people are trying to find places to park thier money.
