Wow. I think this wagon holds the CP record for For Sale ad posts!

What is wrong with it? I really don't like the interior colour, but it is not totally brutal ... what gives?

I like it, other than the wheels and fake SS stuff.  Not sure why it's been for sale so much as it seems to be a decent, solid car from the pics, and priced reasonably for today's market (though for a couple thou less you could have that great 'classic' minivan that Todd posted about... biggrin).

I imagine it will end up overseas eventually.

Appears to have changed hands a few times. I'd love to have it but I'm out of space and time for more projects. Looks like an easy restoration though.

Looks half decent. With the amount of sales one has to wonder whats wrong with it ?

I wonder if it actually did sell all those times it was listed , or is it still the same seller just relisting occasionally?

If I was buying it I could drive it home. The patina doesn't bother me but if I did have it it's likely that I'd want to paint it eventually.

Sorry not an "SS"!! Doesn't have the round gauges in it that were part of the SS package.......It's just a wagon....

They only made SS wagons in 1973.

Personally, I think its a neat car. Id change the rims and would have no issues with driving it as much as it could handle.

(Maybe rebadge it as a Heavy Heavy Chevy)

I agree and would do the same ..... remove the SS badging , and keep it as a driver , providing its in decent shape (frame , body and mechanical )

Ditto.  De-SS it.  Put a proper bowtie back on the grille, get a flat hood (the original with matching paint would be best, though the seller doesn't mention having it), hopefully the SS emblem on the fender will come off without damaging the fake wood (or no holes drilled) but I wouldn't hold out too much hope.  Change out the wheels for some 5-slot rallyes (have a set already), and you're good to go.  Probably would want to remove some of the subwoofer stuff if it looks like crap (most do)... and I like bass but don't need to rattle the windows.  Basically just remove all the "improvements" done by previous owners.

Front carpet is out, so it must leak... would have to go after that as well and put new carpet in.

Original worn paint and faded Mactac wood doesn't bother me... though I suppose if I owned it for awhile I would get tired of it and have to paint it... not sure.

I've been drawn to this car before, and recall when it first showed up on this forum pre-modification, but it's not in the cards for me.  Would love to see somebody on the forum get it and do it justice.

When the fake wood grain was popular there was a used car lot near me that would put ATF on a rag and wipe down the faded wood grain. It would look good for a week or two.

I agree on the wheels and carpet (know where I can get one for a good price) but the rest is fine with me !

LOL... used car lots.  That's a good story.

I never liked fake wood grain in the past (typically don't like fake anything) but lately I've relaxed my dislike as it has become a relic of a particular time period.  It actually looks kinda good on this particular car, though if I had it I'd try to find a way to spruce up the faded part a little (maybe floor wax or furniture polish?  Not sure).

Somewhere on the Internet, maybe here, there was a Chevelle wagon and the trim around the wood grain was chrome plated and used as the break line for two tone paint without the wood grain. I thought it looked good.
