Got our Ontario plate permit refund today.

Car one $350, Car 2 $350, Car 3 totaled in 2020 (one year) $110. $810 total.

Still waiting on my two Pontiacs, for 3 and 1 year refunds.

Always nice, but how are they (we) paying for this?

 

Also it states "Vehicle owners are still required to renew every one or two years at no cost"

Huh? Renew.. what?

Huh? Renew.. what?

 Yup, it is just the fee and sticker that go away. I suspect the purpose of "renewing" is just to allow a mechanism to still collect 407 fees and fines.

Weird- how many years of paying for plates is now history, over 100? How much revenue gone and where will the new tax money come from to make up for it? Have to cut some services or increase taxes, maybe no raises for nurses or a pay cut.

we are worried about mail theft.

 That would make sense. Everyones plates would be in the system that way. Unfortunately I wont get my refund until December if thats the way they are doing it.

My check arrived today dated April 2....the day after April Fools.

My Birthday is in August 

460.00 for 2 cars.

will find a special account for that as it will likely be clawed back somehow.

Dont smoke or drink so they wont get me on that.

 OK, I can stop watching the mailbox now.

From what I am told, they are working by birth month so September is coming now.

I appreciate the break down format for those of us with more than one plate.

Especially me, with more plates than cars.

The truck plate that expired while I was waiting for my year long order to come in is no longer waisted money.

The $1,245 will go towards my bill to repair my well.

$1,530 cheque from the government to me is obscene. I just signed another cheque, same amount to a Church breakfast program for the homeless.
