Anyone ever apply a DIY bedliner coating?

I'm pondering applying one of those do it yourself bedliner coatings to my 94 Chevy. I watched a few comparison videos on Youtube but thought I'd see if anyone here has applied one. Not sure if the budget will allow for a commerical one like Line-X etc. I think there's only a couple of shops on the island who do these anyway and I suspect it's likely about 600 bucks to have one sprayed profesionally. A do it yourself one is about half that.

I need to do something soon as my son is anxious to use the truck for all his landscaping plans and I can't bear the thought of the freshly painted box getting scratched so I best get it covered!

Do you use a gun or spray bombs?

Reason I ask is I bought some bedliner spray bombs and what came out of that nozzle was nothing like the quality of a professional spray in liner.

Not a fan of drop in bed liners (the truck came with one and I took it out) as they are bad for causing rot in the box- esp here with our salty air.

I'd probably go with one you brush on or spray with a gun.

just make sure the surface is sanded good, any spots that are not scuffed good will peel eventually

Used the "Canadian Tire special" roll on bed liner, in a van floor, about 10 years ago.

Came out great !

Yes, buy extra rollers.
