Just a tip for anyone buying and selling items here (or any forum for that matter). 

This is something I learned years back but sometimes forget to list in the ad. 

I listed an item for sale and requested that anyone interested reply to my ad in the thread where the item is for sale plus reply using a private message. 

I had two replies to the same item at virtually the same time. Buyer #1 replied in the ad thread, then sent me a private message. Buyer #2 sent me a private message. Buyer #1 responded in my ad at 6:25 AM and followed up with a private message at 6:28 AM. Buyer #2 sent me a private message at 6:28 AM also but his message came later than Buyer #1 in the private messaging. However, because Buyer #1 replied in my ad at 6:25 AM he is the first to respond to me and he is first in line. 

I learned this lesson years ago on another forum when a similar thing happened. There was a very nasty dispute involving all kinds of accusations etc because the seller would only say Buyer #X beat out Buyer #Y with the private message but wouldn't show proof on the site. It was felt he was playing favourites. Buyer #X and Buyer #Y had NOT posted anything in the ad saying they wanted the item.

So sellers, to avoid any hard feelings with selling items, please request in your ads that you would like a reply both in the ad as well as private messages. And buyers, make sure you post in the ad as well as a private message if you would like to buy an item. Even though it's not a rock solid rule it is a good solid way to determine the order of sale if there is any question.
