I have a dove nesting in my carport. Is this good luck or a dirty car?

I had seen signs of a nest, and knew it was a pair of doves making it, but hadn't see any bird in the nest. I went out today thinking I probably should take the nest out, and when I reached up to grab it, a dove fluttered out and away.

So I left for a bit, and now she's back. The nest is right above my little bench I work on. They say they are easily spooked, but I can move around under her moving things and making some noise, and so far she stays put. 

I'll try to keep things quiet easy for them over the next few weeks as I find it interesting. Birdcrap can't hurt the 65...

Just tack a 1/4 sheet of old plywood or something under the nest until she moves out when the kids move.

 If she came back fairly quickly there are probably eggs in the nest. I agree with a piece of plywood or something similar to stop bird droppings. She will come back after you have installed the poop control system.

She's far enough down at the end that she's never over a car. I just think the extra board might make her feel a little more secure.
