Haven’t Posted here in a while

I havent posted here in a while. Dont ban me but Ive been working on my old 29 F*^d.
If its any consolation, it is a Canadian Car. Anyways with Covid going on and my buddy not working we finished the bodywork and he painted it in a makeshift poly paint booth. Not perfect but pretty decent. Then I gave it a try and installed the vinyl top. Last summer I brought it to the family reunion. No real interior and no hood but still gave everyone a ride. My dad at 92 was in his glory. Last fall I came across a partial interior kit s and a big thanks to Jerel on here helping me get it home. The kit being for a 31 instead of 29, I had to do a few mods and make a few panels. Also I had a local upholstery shop make me the headliner. I just covered the seats in vinyl for now but eventually will get covers made up. I still have to mount the hood. Paint is dry as we speak. Ill try and download some photos.

Ok, you're forgiven for not posting. As far as forgiveness for the F**d thing, that might not be so simple....

Thanks Clint. And I didn't think it was that long ago you were over but Covid did rob everyone of at least one year.

Very nice. I've always wanted to drive a stock pre-war car.

Thanks Todd. Driving one of these is definitely a learning curve. You are the one in full control of ignition advance and fuel mixture while driving. No syncros in the transmission so you have to relearn to shift as well. And it's hard not to honk that A-oo-gah horn while you drive. Kinda fun actually.

Looks great John.
Never realised until now that the 28/29 Fordor has an integral cowl unlike the rest of the 28/29, always assumed that was 30/31 only, learned something new today.

Dad had a 31 when he died in 2000, same body style. I drove it a few times, it was an experience. I dove his 35 and 40, he put hydraulic brakes on them, they drive a lot better than the 32, it was basically horse and buggy suspension. Nice work you are doing.

I remember that car in your garage. It had a lot of potential so I'm glad to see it progressing so well. Maybe I'll get to see it in person here soon if we can work it out.

Thanks for the compliment. And yes. The Fordor body is unique to the other models and the Briggs Fordor (which this is) is unique in many ways to the Murray Fordor.

The Fordor also has way more wood than the other models. Wood skeleton with the tin nailed to it. Lots of work to restore one of these.

That's why most were used as parts cars for the chassis.  Here's a picture of the wood.

You'd think so but actually not. All my cans are empty. Oilcan collecting is a disease. LOL. What you see there is not even half of them

get together with a few of you at some shows and cruise nights.
