US Postal money order

I have a part I want to buy out of the US and he wants a US postal money order only. I believe that Canada Post quit that, am I right?

If so, does anyone have experience with this? There's no way for me to buy one from USPS is there? (I'm in Canada of course...)

Last time I did a US money order was with my bank. I opened a US account (free). Converted the funds from cdn to usd. Went to the bank, money order 7 bucks. And that was it.

Canada Post no longer sells money orders. USPS only sells domestic money orders, they no longer sell international ones.
Getting a USPS one in Canada might be a challenge, I suspect you'll need to make a trip across the border.

Maybe a good USA member could help get it started?

Carl.... As you know, the last year I've had extensive experience trying to get parts from the USA. I would use Paypal, or a RB USA cheque, last resort is a bank draft.

Bank draft is basically cash, you have no recourse if it gets lost or he fails to send product. That $$ is lost, bank will do nothing for you!!

Email transfer I've found to be the easiest....

The bad thing is, it's a part I need and I know a member who lives close to where the part is. I don't feel right asking him to help me with it because he could also use the same part for his car! It would be like rubbing his face in it that I found the part but kept it for myself.

I have used Western Union at any Walmart. Fees are a little high but very convenient. Walmarts seem to be everywhere.

Thanks, he his saying US postal money order only for payment so I need to honour that request. Possibly he's been burned by someone using other forms, I'm not sure.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I'm kind of giving up at this point and hoping the friend from this site who also could use it can maybe pick it up for himself. He's only about 1/2 hour away but on the Canadian side. After I slept on it I realized friends are way more important than car parts! I think it will be easy for him to get it as long as he has time to run across for it.

How refreshing to read your thoughts re friends and and your general attitude towards life in general. Your parents certainly raised you right. I like to think that I am like minded as yourself as are my kids and grandchildren. Inflation cant diminish the amount of kindness and consideration one can give. Sorry for the derail but I had to say it.

Never mind I see he is insisting on money order. If you want I can send the money order from here in Delaware and you can pay me another way such as PayPal. Happy to do it.

Thanks, I appreciate it but I think it's going to work out for someone living relatively close to him (in Canada) to run over and get it.
