Makes no sense. Same story farther down the page-

With this latest raise, the average pay for GM factory workers making trucks in Mexico will go from around $25 to $27 per day. Thats in contrast to GM workers in the U.S., who make anywhere from $18 to $32 per hour.

I'd love to know the actual cost to build these full size pickups that sell for over 100 grand these days.

Cost has almost pretty much nothing to do with the selling price. Made in Mexico, USA, Canada, same exorbitant price.

Late in 1990, I tried to order a new 1991 S10 Blazer 4 door 3 pedal 5 speed. Id bought 3 GMs in a row, waited 3 months and still no build date, likely because of the manual transmission.

Through work, I knew a good fellow at a ford dealership so I checked with him for the same spec in an Explorer, I ordered it and took delivery 5 weeks later. I sold my 1989 Bonneville SSE. The Explorer was $21,500. 3 years later, prices had risen to $35,000 but the Explorer was mechanically identical, only a few cosmetic changes. The price increase was all profit as far as I could tell.

I bet these new $100,000 pickups cost under $60,000 to build, the price has shot up at least $30,000 in the last 3-4 years?

So people need to boycott GM made vehicles made south of the US border. It's like Joe Fresh clothing- made by children in sweat shops in India. Come on people. Make a stand for those unfortunate.........and mis-represented.
