What is it ?

I bought a used air brush compressor and this item came with it.

I don't think it has anything to do with the compressor.

It has spark plug looking ends with what looks like a removeable fuse in the clear body.

Has a patent number and a note on the body:

"Do not install with engine running"

Anybody know it is and what it is used for?

Thanks.

Yes for checking spark. I have one. I think it's a bluepoint.

Yes a spark tester. It goes onto the spark plug and then the plug wire goes on the other end. Yours is missing the plug wire.

Very useful when you have a miss to see if you have a misfiring spark plug, it flashes a light if the plus is firing. Much faster and easier than grounding the tip of the plug on the block and trying to see a spark. Use it on outboards and other things when they dont run right or wont start.
