Bonfield auto flea market

Has anyone been to the Bonfield Ontario auto flea market? Its quite a drive for me and I was wondering what to expect. I think that probably 2019 was the first and this year would be the second due to Covid.

Thanks,

Paul

Bonfield is the new name for the Barrie Automotive Flea market.
WAS the go to place but degraded into a junk shop.
Not worth the price of admission or the cost of fuel to get there

I think you're mistaken on this Cliff, Bonfield is east of North Bay.

The Barrie Automotive Flea Market takes place at Burl's Creek Event Park in Oro-Medonte between Barrie and Orillia.
Same people own the Bonfield site which is just east of North Bay.

Lots of empty spaces at this weekends event so lots of extra walking. Still lots of non automotive vendors. Oh, and now $10 admission and $5 to park.

Thought there was a connection.  Even their online ads use the same colour package for both sites.

Was it worth the trip????

I asked a vintage auto friend from Sudbury about the Bonfield Ontario Auto Swap meet.

Here's what he said:

"This a real good one. Just east of North Bay. Probably the best up here and one of the best in ONT.

I have this on my calendar."

What ever happened to the drag strip that was there?

Myself and 2 friends went to the first one. 4 hour drive from Timmins . It is located in a very sandy area beside the drag strip. We were very disappointed in the layout and not very many vendors. We will not be going back. I felt bad for the vendors as there was not very much attendance. We vended at Barrie in the fall for over 30 years and stopped going because of all the non automotive junk and the ever increasing fees. We now do an annual trip to Bothwell even though it is a longer travel distance for us we make it a one week vacation.
