Liquid Tire Chain and Max Trac explained

A friend of mine's parents had a 72 Riviera GS with Max Trac which was GM's first computerized traction control system.

Didn't we see GM docs for a  '69 Beaumont or Canadian Pontiac with the Liquid Tire Chain option?

will have to take a look at this later. The canisters used to show up on ebay fairly regularly, not sure if they still do.

1969 is way too late as I know I posted somewhere about a '64 or '65 Pontiac for sale in northern Alberta that had this option. The guy was selling the car with the RPO's listed and B75 was one of them. I will have to try and locate. At any rate, DONSSDD found a '63 with B75.

So I think I found a 63 Parisienne build sheet- anyone have codes? - Canadian Poncho (activeboard.com)

On that particular car, he posted pictures of the canister holders and I know I posted it here somewhere. I can't remember if he had a list of the options or the GM documents. I know I did have and indepth conversation with him on the B75 option.

And '64 does ring more the car year.

I'm wondering if B75 and V75 are being confused?

I found an article saying B75 was new in 1969 which is what I had also thought was when it was introduced. Seems to me I recall seeing it listed as something new in a 69 Camaro ad.

"GM thought it had a magical solution to vexing problem of insufficient traction using regular street tires in winter wonderlands: Liquid Tire Chain. Introduced to the market in 1969 as option V75, shoppers could get the Liquid Tire Chain Traction Dispenser on pretty much the full Chevrolet model lineup."

You are correct... I just RPO'ed and it is V75. But, I know I posted about that '64 Pontiac with it, somewhere..... Jeeze, I hope so.....

"V75 Traction Dispenser set-up."

A lot of information removed from that GM letter.

Do you mean you think it might not be authentic?

Ive only received one from them for a 62 Chev amd 2 63s, 64 and later had options listed like this one does. Whats not there is it doesnt say it was a Parisienne, no reason not to include that? It doesnt say its 1 of say 5,000 of that model, no engine stamp number. All mine said those things, just saying Id want to see the complete original GM letter before Id know it was a real letter.

Just remember... that car was documented in 1991. They were free back then. I did a bunch of mine as well and that is pretty much all the info they provided. I requested so many in fact, they actually gave me a file reference number. Years later, I asked George about doing some of mine over again and had stated that I had them done once and remarked to him why should I have to pay now? His reply, "you didn't pay for them the first time!" haha. I will find one and post.

If we had that VIN done today, we would get the info we are actually use to in todays documents.
