The latest WHMIS info I could find online says it still has zinc.

When did GM start having cam issues due to a lack of zinc in oil? Late 70s? Bought some EOS yesterday.

I had a 1979 chev 1/2 with a 305 and the camshaft went out at 18,000 k's. I use a 1/2 can of EOS every time i change the oil in my 55 261. I also advise all my friends with original muscle cars to use it at every oil change

I bought 500 liter container, I use that at every oil change in the 409.

Lately Ive been using this Lucas Hot Rod Oil. Designed for the older engines with flat lifters so comes with the zinc.  Im impressed with it. Even dropped the engine temp by close to 10 degrees.

This is the bottle I bought at the local AC Delco seller. It gives instruction on the bottle for use on cam breakin on a new engine.

992869 is still a valid, available GM part number for EOS, yes.

The oil was changed just before I bought my current car and though it was just premium current spec oil it would be the low zinc variety. As I was concerned about it with the flat tappet cam I decided to add this Lucas TB-Zinc Plus additive and next oil change I'll just use Lucas Hot Rod Oil as JC2+2 mentioned. I couldn't locate the GM EOS as local dealer was closed at the time.  I can't speak for the effectiveness but figured was much better than going without and it appears to be meant for exactly this use; Break in OR as an additive.

Been using EOS since 2003, with a regular oil.
