For more than two decades, GM St. Catharines has hosted Canadas largest GM-powered car show at McKinnon Park here in St. Catharines, Ontario.
At its inception, the Show n Shine was a passion project organized by dedicated GM employees and in its first year featured 16 Corvettes and a handful of enthusiasts. Since then, the car show has developed into a more inclusive event for the plant and the community, showcasing any vehicle powered by a GM engine and averaging 400 vehicles and twice as many spectators from across Ontario and New York State.
The Show n Shine also features a variety of vendors, special displays and food available for purchase, with all proceeds donated to United Way Niagara.
Additionally, awards are distributed to car show entrants in 26 categories including Best of Show Vintage, Best of Show Most Radical, and Best of Show Plant Directors Choice.
Must be 18 or older to enter a vehicle. Event is rain or shine.
Our Annual Show n Shine Car Show returns Friday, August 12 along with a plant Open House event to give members of the public the opportunity to tour our two million square foot facility. Registration is required for both.
Wow-2 fridays in a row I have to take off work-the 5th is the E.L.T.A. car show and drags in Sparta(St.Thomas) great car show and a day of drag racing-went last year what a blast-and the Gm show on the 12th is one of the best in the country-take the tour -last time I took the tour they left me behind as I was in awe of all the big block crate engines.

I love the rims on Kevins car as well as anyone noticed his license plate-lol!Plant tour was over an hour -pretty scary seeing parts being transported thru out the plant with no people on them-great day-great cars-saw 2 LS6 cars I have never seen before-both from Ontario-sorry I didn't make it back by Kevins car for a pop but kept running into people who wanted to chat.
Keep on Cruising!!!

I have only 2 more sessions left with my personal trainer.. She has consistently told me to do more walking and i have preferred the recliner. Well the last few days I have been going to show and shine events and have done about 5. Some i just sit and talk about the impala and others i get up and wander about handling out posters for Canadian Poncho. I have also been handing out my business cards to anyone who would take one, and they get my rapport about the Impala and the fact that I am looking for a new Caretaker. Have done Stouffville, Canadian Tire Oshawa, Uxbridge. All well attended shows.
Mark sent me a photo of the 3 Poncho cars that were all in one spot. I could see a large telephone pole in the background but had no idea where they were. I walked the whole park and my fancy watch tells me I did 5200 steps today on the uneven pothole hilly ground. . I only saw one Poncho logo on one windshield. and one on the Impala.. Need to get more Poncho stickers out there!
I had gotten an email at 7.47 am today, must have been on the 407 at that time asking the price on my car. I replied, but no response. Will have to follow up.
One young lady came to tell me that she totally admired the car but would paint it black... I told her it had been painted 17 years ago and she could certainly paint it black........ about 3 hours later she appeared again professing her love for the car. I opened the drivers door and she jumped at the chance to sit behind the wheel.
That was the most promising event of the day. Gave out 150 business cards with my spleel. and probably 30 poncho flyers to any Poncho in my walking realm.

That is impressive. The QEW was stop and go in some places but once i hit the 407 i kept it at 2200 to 2500 revs with the 3.08 rear gears on the cruise.
saw a real interesting draw bar hookup on the back of a red pickup that was near me.
The long draw bar hook extended from the full size receiver and extended 24 inches out. The owner mcgivered a umbrella mount on the end and sat in the shade all day. Brilliant.
The mount had an adjustable tube going to the ground to stabilize the whole hookup.
