A 45 year tradition of car people getting together to show theirs cars and indulge in a bit of chin wagging has had its candle blown out. The parking lot, where it was held religiously on Thursday evenings, is owned by Metro Transit and theyve promptly put a halt to anything taking place on their properties. The true enthusiasts that are there to meet up with friends, show their cars, and have a laugh are the ones that are getting hosed. The a$$hats that decided to do burnouts, drive people nuts with their 180000 watt stereos, dump every ounce of garbage that entered their hands on the ground, and just be straight up disrespectful are the problem. Fart cans, crotch rockets revving to 10k RPM, and drag racing from light to light have screwed it for everyone else. A huge thank you these people. You have successfully driven away ANOTHER place to meet up because of this. Then you bi+@h about it saying you were only fooling around and everyone is overreacting. They were warned, multiple times, yet they continued. And here we are. The classic cars had permission to be there and they started to allow a broader scope of vehicles to join in to appeal to everyone. This is the repayment. To add to the a$$holery was a local group that wants to be YouTube, or Tic Toc, or FacePalm superstars filming the shenanigans and getting the aforementioned fart-can/stereo/RPM warriors to rip it up. Arrrrrggggghh (insert F word here).

What a ripoff for you guys. I'm sorry that happened, that sucks. Stuff like that drives me crazy but it's easy to see why it happens, the part about being shut down I mean.

Sorry to hear this, as the adage says "a few bad apples ruins the whole bunch". Hopefully you can find another spot and exclude those that caused this.

It was around August 2006 or 2007, this site/show decided to try to beat a show at an A&W Alberta show that had 809+ cars show up. I was there with the 63 SWC when they quit counting at around 1500. My car was in the ad/pic in Old Autos that appeared for numerous years after that. Real sad to see this over.

Yep same thing at a cruise night at  the Ajax Ontario CTC cruise night

 

Lots of high revving and boom box *demos* topped off with burnouts

 

Was the first time there showing off my "FOR SALE" signs.

May not go back...

There are other locations to go to with a longer drive time.

Lindsay Ont. had the same thing happen there with owner of Plaza [ not A&W] put the boots to that the first time he happened to drive in & asked "how long has this Bull $hit been going on" so after 4 or 5 years that cruise was done!! Moved to CTC but with Owner change got the boot there too!! Now held at Lindsay Air Port!! A&W lost a TON of business as well as surrounding stores!!!!
