2014 Toyota FJ cruiser sells for 108K USD on Bring a Trailer

I always thought these were kind of neat and were really reliable when I worked at the Toyota dealer. But for 108k?? That's almost $142000 Cdn! Mind you this one has almost no miles and is basically new.

That's crazy, they are kinda neat, but not that neat. Would rather have an old school FJ40 with SBC conversion and GM steering conversion.
At least you can take the roof off on the old ones.

Some of these prices must be drug money laundering?

I agree. This auction made me think about that also.

They are horrible for off roading. They crack along the rear wheel wells in the back because of lack of reinforcement. Friend of mine belonged to a Jeep club and every single FJ in the club had to be reinforced and welded up

I have a 2007 FJ Cruiser that I bought in 2010 with 50,000km (12 years ago ) . I can literally still get what what i paid for it today ( and that is with 250,000 km put on it now ) .We don't off road or abuse it , and this is by far the most reliable vehicle I have ever owned . There is no reason to sell it as there is absolutely nothing wrong with it . Just passed a recent gov't safety inspection last month . My son also has one ( 2010), but due to his growing family it is no longer feasible for them ..... so I'll be likely buying it from them .

They were also one of the last Toyota's made in Japan.

Heaps of Toyotas still made in Japan. Lots of Landcruisers in both full size and scale model size (called a Landcruiser Prado in Australia). Plus Prius, 4Runner, 86, Yaris etc.

FJ Cruiser is still manufactured in Japan too and sold into the Middle East and South America. So in theory you could actually buy one in South America in LHD and drive up into North America.

I should have clarified- The FJ was one of the last Toyota's made in Japan and exported to Canada. I think the Yaris was the only other one at the time. I believe the latest Yaris is really a Mazda. Too bad as the original Echo/Yaris cars were bulletproof.
