Westville fire department restoring antique truck that served Pictou County for years


Here's an interesting story of an NS fire station restoring a 1948 GMC that served that community until 1976:

Looks like the LaFrance emblem on the vintage B&W image. They were assembled from kits in Weston, ON, sourced from the Elmyra, NY, manufacturer. I wonder where the apparatus went? Worthy project!

 It is sitting beside the truck, right side of pic. You can just see the edge of it.

Saw a news item on ctv, the department says it still has original 1948 tires. They look a lot alike in the old and new photos.
