i think a lot of  these  cars were used up on the dirt tracks plus they were pretty vunerable to rust

Yeah for sure most didn't last too long even in Alberta. Not to mention the saggy massively heavy doors on those post 72 two doors.

Indeed, I like it, but of course I am partial to 73 Colonades.

I remember my aunt and uncle traded their 1970 Chevelle for a 73 Malibu. It was maroon in colour. They had that car quite a while. I think it got traded on an 81 Cutlass.

/\ wow!!

I cannot recall when I last saw one.
I think one showed up at a local A&W show last year.
An old friend had a 1974 (non-SS) black on red coupe with a 350/350 drivetrain and swivel buckets... unfortunately he gave up on it about fifteen years ago, and sent it to the wrecker - IIRC his dad bought it new.

I liked those even when they weren't cool!

I'm a big fan of those bumpers that actually bump without a bunch of damage to the car.

Back in the 70's there was a dark red '73 Chevelle SS in Dundas, Ontario. It was showroom condition, with Firestone Wide Ovals on stock 14x7 Rally Wheels, 454, factory sliding sunroof, swivel buckets. I couldn't get out of the back of the Datsun 1200 I was riding in to verify whether it was 4-speed or TH400. It was regularly parked at the Shell station at the corner of  King & Creighton where the Pepper Mill, a '60 Falcon drag car with a hot 300 six, was based. Bruce Eckles owns the garage now AFAIK.

Ever see a Chevelle SS wagon? I knew of them all the way back to 1973 introduction, but I never saw one in person until 1984 in Atlanta.
