4 way flasher

Noob here, just bought his 1st ever Pontiac.  Know NOTHING about these cars.  Impulse buy and here I am.  Is there a 4 way flasher switch (hazard switch) some where?  Its a 63 Parisienne 4 DR HT.  Couldn't find it anywhere and I have no owners manual.

No, nothing in the GM line had 4 ways until 1967,  there was a dealer accessory Signal-stat  flasher unit that could be added inline with the signal harness,  they come up on ebay, etc from time to time,  but pricey.

Very helpful to find a 1963 set of shop manuals for your car. They have lots of details on parts and repair and diagnosing/trouble fixing. A set consists of a 1961 Canadian Pontiac shop manual, then a supplement 1963 shop manual. The 1961 is the main shop manual, the 1963 supplement only contains the changes from the 1961 manual. They come up on Kijiji and ebay, usually pretty cheap, and well worth the money.

The Canadian Pontiac is mechanically 99.9% identical to a 1963 Chevrolet full size. The Chevy has an assembly manual available and that can also be very helpful for some things that are not covered in the shop manuals. The manuals also have full wiring diagrams.

Dont shop on any US Pontiac sites for parts for your car, without asking here first. Not much of anything fits.

If you cant find a 63 supplement, let me know and I think I have a spare, but find the 61 manual first. Sellers frequently have both.

The 63 had no seat belts standard either, they were optional, lapbelts only. The law does not require that you have them if they were not originally on a car. If you want to add them, the mounting bolt points are there in the floor.

Hello Don, thanks so much for the info. Yeah I have been reading here and so much info my head is spinning. I've learned that my Parisienne is Canadian only and US is a Catalina? Vista means 4 door hard top? Yes my car has lap belts only, and the way it is, I am driving with the steering wheel close to my chest, hope no head on with anyone or it will impale me for sure lol. No power steering neither, I need it to be close to me to get leverage to steer, all these new driving experiences for an old guy, very exciting. I wonder where I could find a 61 manual and a 63 supplement...I will start looking. Cheers!

I wonder if this is the same guy my co worker bought stuff from. This goes back 30 years before all the online stuff, just local selling paper. "Ken McGee is the man to see!" my friend will say. He had a 67 and a 68 Caddy, both 4 door hard top.

Yup same guy. Ken is a collector extraordinaire.....and has a large collection of perfectly

restored or original cars. His book shop is excellent as well. Ken has slowed a little he's 82 now.

Yeah time sure flies! My friend who had the Caddies passed 10 years ago now. I was hoping to buy one of his cars but his relatives had other ideas.
