Anybody here willing to go look at the weirdest car in the country for me?

Hey guys, I'm looking at possibly making a deal on a Citroen Deux Cheveaux. Yes, I know it is about as far from a Canadian Poncho as you can get, but when me and the lovely wife were in France this summer we saw a few and she said she "I could have that...."

Anyway, I have talked to a guy just north of Bowmanville who has one for sale.  If one of you guys might have a bit of time and mileage (that I would compensate you for) to go see and report back to me to see if it is as good he says it is, maybe I could decide to pursue this little car that would bring back the image of slowly driving to get baguettes in a French village.

These are amazing machines that were engineered to get the French populace on the road in the 1940's in a distinctively french way. Very innovative engineering

Please PM me if any of you southern Ontario guys would be interested in taking a look for me.

We can get into the details.

Hopefully I have not lost all my credibility even admitting I'm interested in this.

Thanks!

007 drove one and went off roading in it. They definitely need one of those big fake windup keys on the trunk like you see on old VW bugs. Saw one parked when I was in Vancouver recently. Cool looking weird car. It may have a weird on the tree shifter, I remember something French or British with a 4 on the tree.

Oh the irony! Last night I watched this video about a museum with unique cars and this guy has a few of these including one that's just a bare chassis to display the unique suspension

Is it too late to join the party.  Im in Oshawa, minutes from Bowmanville.

Would be a good reason to get out of my recliner and get some sunshine.

Anything to help out Ken who kept me up to date on his walking adventures

Hi Cliff sorry for late reply. I was in Edmonton all day yesterday so wasn't on ine. I'm going to call the guy today to let him know that a busload of old men will be coming to look at the car. The only question is hao large of the bus to charter.

But seriously I have talked to Mark and he is willing to go so If you want to jump on when he goes let him know. I appreciate the interest but this is a long way form done, i would like to get to good impartial reports on general condition. (Ie the odometer reads 42000 or so but I'd like to know if it looks as though its bee over once Also, rust is absolutely a no-no on these cars so that I'd like to get info on that and the third thing is the tires. My plan if I get this thing is to pick it up in Ontatro in the spring and drive it back to Alberta. Should be quite an experience.

However the guy is kind of on again-off again baout selling it so its hard to say if this will work out, not to mention my wife thinks I'm out to lunch.
