basically it allowed buyers to get other manufacturers (such as mopar)colors on their cars- this is how the 442 below came to be

I understand the dealer got around GM's allotment rule which limited the number of W-30 cars he could order. A car ordered under the special paint program (I think was $30) did not go against his allotment so he ordered this one as his personal demo.

I didn't know that GM had a special paint program. I do remember somebody at StevesNovasite owned a 1970 Nova SS396 that was factory ordered in 1970 Dodge Plum Crazy.
