No surprises here... I realized this a long time ago from personal experience .Our daily drivers have always Toyota models since 1998 . Currently have Tundra, 4Runner , and a FJ Cruiser. All have 200 - 320 km with zero issues . Another positive is their resale value.

A good friend of mine here has a 2011 Avalon. I have to say it's a very nice car. Apparently the undercarriages were galvanized on these cars. I can't confirm this however there's not a spec of rust under that car which is incredible for PEI
It's kind of alike a Lexus in Toyota clothing.
My beater 96 Accord (non VTEC 2.2) just turned 363000km and doesn't burn a drop of oil. AC still works too.

Two Oshawa made Impala sedans would cost about the same as the Lexus.

The Chevy drivers always get their moneys worth wink

High miler commuters last a lot of miles, many brands. Look at used GM pickups for sale, fairly normal to see 4-500,000 on them out west But some manufacturers make more lemons than others and rust is a big killer.

It's not uncommon to see Dodge Rams with the 5.9 Cummins with a million k's on them. Saw that quite a bit when I worked at the Dodge dealer.

Don't forget this U.S. chart was based on miles not kilometers.

100,000 km = 62,137 miles

200,000 km = 124,274 miles

300,000 km = 186,411 miles

400,000 km = 248,548 miles

500,000 km = 310,686 miles

1,000,000 km = 621,371 miles

1,000,000 miles = 1,609,344 km

Getting 400,000 or 500,000 km on a vehicle (Canada) puts you right into the top (miles) vehicles on the charts.

We are big fans of Toyota products in our family. They are mechanically reliable and tend to last longer on the road than other cars, despite the overabundance of road salt used in this Province (no sand, all salt!).

Having said that, the 2003 Tundra I had a few years back was excellent in every way but one - the frame and undercarriage rusted out, including the rear diff which developed pinhole oil leaks. There was a recall for the frame replacement but it wasn't worth the trouble to me for a used pickup.

My son's Tacoma of the same vintage, is starting to show similar issues underneath, though not as bad as the Tundra's.

I also had a used 2002 Impala that I found to be a good reliable car.

Sadly the domestic manufacturers have largely abandoned the sedan platform. More money in SUVs, crossovers and trucks, I assume. Or perhaps they can't compete with the Asian and European manufacturers in those product lines?
