latest 1964 Impala 1/25 model

3 Years off and on, but finally got it.  An original paint time capsule.  Factory ordered from Chapman GM in Kilarney MB.   Very unusual combination of options on this 1964 Impala(NON-SuperSport).  Starting with the Desert Biege paint and Red interior.  Basic 230 cu 6 cyl with a 3-speed column shift.  Build sheet shows N40 Power Steering and J50 Power Brakes. Also U63 radio, B70 padded dash, C14 wipers-washers, delete P01 wheel covers for base dogdish on P62 7.75-14 bias-ply Whitewalls. Canadian built car judging from the firewall paint, and the black custom deluxe seatbelts. Still showing green factory primer underneath original spiral shocks and exhaust system.

Too many mods, could fill a book.  Started with crappy Foose Impala SS kit, converted to base model.  Sanded off all the side trim, and made my own from strip plastic.  Did the same with the door panels and seats, sanded it all off and scribed my own impala pattern, resin cast a bench seat added upholstery buttons, etc.   The 6cyl is my own resin casting from another model kit adding heavily scratch built parts as well as turning the hubcaps and air cleaner on a lathe, then casting them and painting with airbrushed chrome paint.  Made all my own decals in photoshop for the side pinstripe and all the emblems/underhood decals and the cloth seat pattern.  Fully wired and plumbed engine, tire valves, door lock knobs, and painted firewall markings, paint is 20 yr old DuPont Centari wet sanded and polished.

So nice Dave! Built to spec. Crazy.

I should ask. Did you get those underhood decals from that beaumontguru guy on CP? They look familiar.

Excellent! What kind of decal paper are you using? Does it work with a standard jet ink printer? I actually bought a model tonight. I really wanted to build a 1/25 car but they want 64 bucks for them at my local hobby shop so I settled for a 1/32 military Jeep for $18 just to get back into the groove.

I use a laser printer. I use the expert choice bare metal foil decal sheets they come in clear or white. And laser or inkjet. I prefer the clear. I print 2 copies. Install one decal. Paint inside the lines in the color I want to show thru. Then install a second decal directly overlapping. Look at the impala circle on the quarter and the 230 emblem. I painted the silver and the gold underneath.

You could drive that one to work in the winter the next 50 years and it wouldn't rust out!

You really need to do a replica Vintage vehicle service sheet for it.

You sir, are a true modeling genius!

Do you ever post your projects to any model car forums?  I know they would go nuts over a project like this!
