WV Charleston ROD RUN & Doo Wop Show

Just found out this week that the show I go to every year in October, with over 1200 vehicles has been permanently CANCELLED due to sponsorship decline in support, lack of volunteers, and city putting in "bike & pedestrian" lanes on the Blvd! 17 years of success  GONE  Also saw that the BRACEBRIDGE ONT show is also CANCELLED due to lack of funding and volunteers as well!!!  There dropping like flies it seems, as we get older and younger generation has no interest!! At least 4 shows and cruise nights have been cancelled in my area, [ insurance, sponsors and lack of interest from Municipal TWP to have it on TWP property without  outrageous rental fees]!!!

Pretty SAD!!!! First they cancelled the Huntsville show...the business association said it wasn't helping the downtown business. Now the Bracebrige show...lack of volunteers (Really, how many do you need?) I heard there was 'organization problems" with the Gravenhurst show and also Orillia.
The last 2 were run by the city, (as far as I know). The Orillia show last year didn't block off all the entrances ( I got there late, due to mechanical problems and drove right in, not interested in entering for prizes, and they were turning cars away at the main entrance, and left early)

 Maybe get the Maple Leafs management to run the shows. They cant seem to manage their way past the first round of the the playoffs so they should have lots of time available?
