Dash Cam Footage from Nova Scotia Wildfires

I've heard 17 homes destroyed. There's also a big fire in New Brunswick. So far so good here in PEI

Drove home from Ottawa yesterday, came through the fire area about 730, could smell smoke at the airport but did not see a lot of it. A bit of it in the air around the area where the fire started but not a huge amount.

2c here this morning going to 23, some wind about 20kph forecast and no real rain forecast for the foreseeable future. 25 tomorrow, 32 Wednesday and its tinder dry every where.
NS has firefighters in Alberta and the whole country is tinder dry, this next while could be unbelievable everywhere.

I'm a bit nervous here since there's so much brush on the ground from Fiona. There's also acres of tree dumps in fields that should have been cleaned up by now.

New fire started in the same area that is not related to the original fire. Evacuation of more areas may be coming because it is also out of control. My brother and his family are here with us on the Dartmouth side of HRM as they were evacuated from their home on Sunday afternoon. It didnt reach their house but his wife had a video of the drive out. Pretty scary. I had called him about 15 minutes beforehand and told him to get $hit gathered up, load up the kids and wife, have her drive the truck and you drive the Nova and get over here. He called right afterwards and said they were ordered out NOW. Just had a hint of smokiness in the air this evening, but the smell of burning plastic and non timber products was quite pungent.
UPDATE: as Im typing this theres a new warning that the second fire has grown and threatening their home from a different angle. More evacuations forthcoming. This is insane!

Any update on the number of homes destroyed? That last I heard was 200 this morning. There's a complete fire ban here in PEI now.

They said first 200 damaged and destroyed, the update said 151 destroyed, no mention of damaged that I heard. Forecast is for rain Saturday and showers through Tuesday at least plus cooler temperatures. Today 25, tomorrow 33.

They are saying 200 structures destroyed, 151 of which are homes.  That is a lot of people who have lost everything, including some with pets that they couldn't save because they weren't home when the evacuation happened and it was too dangerous to let them back to their homes to save pets and belongings.  At least no injuries or deaths to people have been reported.
