Acadians

Picked up a couple Acadians yesterday

1967 invader 4 door. 327 camel humps 4 speed. Gold on gold. Decent car. Runs drives and stops. Brake job and a suspension going over would put this on the road

1966 Canso 2 door hardtop. Everything from the rockers down is toast. Currently held together with ratchet wraps and 2x4s..literally.

debating whether to put in factory replacement metal or do a custom chassis pro touring build on air bags with bead rolled custom floor. Its just a 6 cylinder powerglide car so its not a desirable car. Its a turd right now so its a blank canvass whatever direction I go. Time will tell.

I am a sucker for punishment as the 67 Chevelle is on the rotisserie and I just picked up a bunch more metal for the 67 Beaumont. what am I doing to myself? Ugh

You are just being an optimist and making the people selling those cars very happy. That 2 door looks pretty rough.

Its hard to tell but if you got the D99 trim on that car there is a big market for those two little pieces. Seen them sell for $750USD

What would the D99 trim consist of?

Not chrome. Stainless. Easy to repair. Just time consuming. Did all of mine including the pieces in the photo

Don't throw out the horn button on the stock sedan steering wheel. It is unique to the 1967 Acadian Invader, 1967-68 base Beaumont, plus Canada-only 1967 Chevy II 100 & 1967-68 Canadian Chevelle 300.

The vinyl roof cover was not offered on the Canadian Chevy II for 1967, but they offered 18 colours on the Canadian cars that year (rather than 15 in the U.S.) and they also seemed to serve up different 2-tones than the U.S.
Here's an original paint survivor in Mountain Green with a Verde Green 2-tone:

The D99 division mouldings were required with 2-tone paint but also available on solid paint cars as well. The Acadian Canso 4-door sedans & Chevy II Nova sedans came standard with D99 mouldings.

I would get the 4 door on the road to have something vintage to drive while you're working on the others.

The 2 door would be parts or just stashed until the other projects are done. For me, if I get too many projects going on at once, none of them get done...

Yes, its in great shape. A little polishing and I think it will clean quite nicely

It is an aluminum trim that is also anodized which will need removed to do any polishing. Maybe just use some detailer on it to see how good it is first.

Once you polish it & remove the anodizing, you will need to keep polishing it once in a while. Not a stretch for a car guy.

Those are some bad-ass rides in your stable BTW.

Ill try your Suggestion with the detailed first, then move to removing the anodizing and polishing. Thank you as well, the 66 is my dream car (dream come true), the white 72 is the car I am building for my wife, and the orange 69 is my brothers car.

I also ordered a boat load of metal for the 66 Canso today. 4-8 weeks delivery. Went and bought a healthy small block for it yesterday too. 30 over 010 SBC, dual quad intake with Edelbrock carbs, 3 angle valve job with stainless valves, hardened pushrods, rollerized, new alternator, distributor, starter, clutch & pressure plate, powder coated valve covers, etc, etc

Making a gasser out of the 66 Acadian. Bolted up the front clip today to get an idea. Going to move the axle back to center So that I dont have to hack front fenders.

just for something fun. The car is a plain jane Canso, and would need a TON of items to go back to original, so a gasser it is!!

Switching the low rise dual quad out for a tunnel ram with Holley 450s.

Found some parts for the 66. Whole front cowl with firewall to floor braces, rockers, floor braces, and also a mint hood. Was cut from a donor car. Ill post a pic when I pick it up sometime in the next month. Quite surprised that i am able to find a piece that is in such great shape especially since its a Nova Scotia car. Have been on a few trips to see parts and parts cars. Picking up things here and there. Headed to Carlisle at the end of September so Ill pick up a bunch more. Getting really excited about this one. Cheers
