Very Cool AUTO PHOTOS

IMG_7074.jpeg

Read IMG_7075.jpegIMG_7076.jpegabout how these photos were taken with a 1925 Camera. It had no shutter so you lifted the lens cap for whatever length of time you thought was right. People in the photos had to pose and not move to get a clear picture. You can see in the Packard picture that some people on the left were moving which created blurring. This photographer was from New Brunswick.

Don,

In the 70's I had a job as a draughtsman in a machine shop in Detroit.

Along with the drafting work my duties included taking pictures of the  inspection machinery they built that was used for manuals

The camera that they supplied me with was a 5x7 Format camera. Sheet film had to be loaded into holders

and unloaded in a dark place. In my case I had a large walk in safe where I did this work.

Loading and unloading in the safe was done with with your hands, it was absolutely dark in the safe.

I was always paranoid the door would accidently got locked and no one would hear me through

the thick safe walls. The format camera always gave excellent black and white pictures

-G

George, I worked at a bank in Halifax in 1972 ish when they installed a vent in the vault wall, activated from inside. In case you got robbed and locked in the vault. 2 guys from Montreal, Chubb Mosler maybe, came down and drilled through the 2 ft or so concrete and steel walls. It took a week or so. 1 fellow, Bob Revert, moved from Montreal and started his own alarm company and is retired here.

Coincidentally while I was there, the bank was robbed. 3 guys from Montreal did it, they headed down the Annapolis valley and got arrested at a motel there. They accidentally I think shot a hole in the steel courier box on the front of the bank on the way in.
