My daughter has worked at the Childrens Hospital of Eastern Ontario for years in a unit that works inside the hospital with kids with medical needs, they work to get kids ready to go to a regular school, she works for the school board.
The little blond girl has been there 3 years, she was born with a brain tumour that kept growing, shes had at least 8 brain surgeries in her 5 or so years, the first I think was at 3 months, the last was early in 2022. They kept opening up her skull in the same scar. After the last surgery, the tumour started growing again and she couldnt have any more surgeries. There is a cancer drug in trials/R&D in Montreal, they tried to get her on but the people running it said she was not strong enough to be part of the trials. Her doctors managed to get her on it, her first treatment showed excellent results, starting to shrink the tumour. Doctors couldnt believe the cat scans. She couldnt talk or move much, she was basically expected to die. The drug was a miracle for her.
My daughter has been telling us her story for the 3 years, Lillys mom had a Facebook group for her and posted lots of videos and pics, including of her cat scans.
My daughter also had a young boy a few years ago, he was quadriplegic and had no speech, he had a laptop he could use his eyes to form words by looking at animals and the laptop would say the words. Ala Stephen Hawking. He was about 3 when he started using the laptop, a very smart kid.
