first time using Rock Auto - some questions

i am ordering for delivery to my home canadian home address- the site gave me a shipping estimate based on using Fedex - does fedex have duty added to their shipments?

 

the site gave me my cost in Canadian funds- is it best to order in US Funds?- i have a us  funds credit  card

 

the part i am ordering is a tail gate latch for a 2008 Colorado - i would think the part is of us origin

Rock Auto sometimes sources parts in Canada. If the parts originated in Canada there wont be any customs/duty charges. I ordered suspension parts and everything came from the Toronto area and was still cheaper than buying locally. I have always paid in Canadian currency and never had a problem.

Its usually prepaid customs/duties if any when choosing the shipment and it usually tells you before placing the order. Input a shipping address and it should tell you duties and taxes..

Yes, they charge USD (charges your cdn account the USD price), so it depends what conversion rate your bank is using to charge/convert the funds. If it were me and I had the US card. Then I would use the USD card. Thats just me though.

When I order Rock Auto I always know to the penny in Canadian dollars what it will cost sitting at my front door. Does it not work that way for all you guys?
