Actually two things. I had no idea the 63 Buick Rivieras had bolt on door skins which allowed the line workers to precisely set the glass firmly against the weatherstrip to prevent water and air leaks.
The gauges were also installed from the front into the cluster.
Those cars were originally conceived to be a 1963 Cadillac LaSalle, but higher-ups said no to going down that road, and Buick was handed the existing project.
They are beautiful cars.
