59 Strato Chief style number

Hi guys. I just picked up a 59 Strato Chief 2 door post/sedan that need a windshield and front right door glass. I've found a place in the US that lists what looks to me like the right glass but the Canadian Style number of 7111 isn't listed. Can anybody tell me if the US Style number of 2111 is the same body style and will work. As far as I can tell it's the same body as a Catalina 2 door sedan but before I spend nearly $900 getting it I'd like to make sure. Unless anyone knows of a place in Canada I could get them. Thanks in advance for your time. Luke

I have found Vanfax in Canada has tremendous coverage for our old cars. If you have Vanfax local to you, give them a try.

And I can check on the interchange later today, between the 2111/7111 cars. I'm 99% sure it will work though.

Would be the same glass as a 59 Chevy 2 door post. Windshield may be the same for most if not all models of 59 Chevy. In later years the 59 convertible and impala 2 door sport coupe had different windshields, 62 on they were shorter height wise.So Im assuming same goes for Cdn Pontiac, maybe a 59 owner will speak up.

Making a start on floor pans this weekend and have brake parts on the way. It apparently ran on the farm 2 years ago but I've heard that story before.

I don't have a Buick book so I'll give you the Chev Olds Pontiac info.

WINDSHIELD

4803750 clear, 483751 tinted for the windshield, 2111 or 7111. It fits 1959 Pontiac, Chev and Olds 2 or 4 door sedan and wagon.  Also fits 1960 Olds 2 door sedan and wagon. From what I see it does NOT 1960 Chev or Pontiac 2 or 4 door sedan or wagon.

DOOR GLASS

I have been able to prove the 2 door sedan door glass fits 59-60 Canadian or US Pontiac and both doors use the same part number so a driver's door glass will also fit. At this point also I can tell you for sure that a 2 door sedan Canadian Pontiac or 1959-1960 2 door sedan Chev, Olds or Pontiac has your correct door glass.

I'll keep digging for Buick info when I have some more time.

So likely your best bet is to search for 1959 Chevrolet 2 door sedan glass.

Carl, auto city classic glass show 1959 and 1960 windshields as the same for the same models, they are very reputable. When looking for used glass, check measurements on your windshield against the 1960 models just in case. When the windshields are different for hardtops, they are usually shorter than sedan glass. And if they have the same windshield, the outside and inside trim likely matches too size wise.

And that was what I was expecting to see but this is what I'm looking at in the Canadian parts book-

I could understand it on the tinted number if they changed something on the tint but the clear? I can't imagine a reason for a part # change in clear other than shape and/or dimensions.

My Hollander interchange manual isn't old enough. I'd love to see what Hollander says.
