Sniff, pass me the Kleenex.

So what sort of business challenges are making them leave Canada?

Exactly. When large businesses stop importing products into Canada it shows how fragile our economy must be to foreign business interests. Not a good signal to send. Probably operating costs in Canada are too high. Its hard to comment and not violate our forum guidelines.

I think they said a shortage of paper, they said "We have been operating in a highly constrained supply environment.

Other reasons cited by others were store brands were eating their lunch, cleaning up so to speak.

Maybe they are like when Target came to Canada, they didnt offer the same products and pricing that they offer in the USA.

Profit margins not high enough for them, competing with store brands and pricing dictated by large grocery/retail chains in Canada.  They'll switch production to more profitable items like paper towel, which has become very expensive.

We'll still call all tissues Kleenex, though... ;)
