66 Pontiac heater box vs 66 Beaumont heater box

I learned something new yesterday while stripping my 66 Custom Sport parts car. Good old GM. I've always said when working our 60's Canadian Pontiacs, Beaumonts and Acadians, no car manufacturer ever did a better job with making the same parts fit multiple models.

Even though I've been doing this over 40 years, I'd never realized this before.

The top heater box (firewall side obviously) is from a 66 Beaumont. I just happen to have one in the garage right now.

The bottom heater box is from a 66 full size Canadian Pontiac.

If you think they look identical, it's because they are.

Yes outside ones are the same even will fit 63 64 impalas too. In 67 they went to a smaller core. But even the inside boxes are the same on most chevelles and fulsize between 63 and 67.
