Does it still have the 4 spd hump , or any of the reverse back drive linkage ( 1 year only) . Check to see if it still has the 4 spd crossmember. Bucket seat car ? I would be all over this . Great find regardless

But just being an M20 isn't enough proof is it? That could have been ordered with small blocks as well?

Nice find as 69 was last year for 4 speed B body. As per the dealer brochure, the 4 spd was available with any v8 in 69, but I bet the Canadian  production of any 4spd B body would have been very low in number.

According to the trim tag the car was built in Flint Michigan. If it was sold new in Canada, Vintage Vehicle Services would have a record of the options.

Looking at front license, shows a "heartbeat" plate. IF it was an Ontario, most of Canada, it would need a provincial plate. Cuts down on the possible Canadian delivery.
Did you get a look under the hood, different rad maybe.

 Yes, definitely a US tag.

The 427 would have had a 1/4" return line back to the fuel tank. Is that present?

For sure this particular car is a US build.

Here's a picture out of the '69 brochure, and a concept car I created from it. I subsequently modified it into an SS427 Sport Coupe with Z21 Mouldings, P02 Special Wheelcovers.

Cool huh?

Also, a big block car would have a much longer blue wire for the oil pressure sending unit.
I'm also thinking the wire from the starter to the coil would have a braided cover, not just a yellow wire. They did that for heat created by the big blocks.

I'm having someone check their 69 LS1 427 for the wiring at the coil. My 70 LS4 454 has the braided wire from the starter to coil, and also braided for the last 12" or so at the starter for the purple wire.

Does the return fuel line count for anything?

The plastic gutter that holds the wires towards the top of the firewall looks to be intact - that's very rare.

396, 427 and 350 are all the same. 327 is different for some odd reason.

If there is still a tag on one of the front springs you may be able to determine if the springs are for a big block application. I know its a long shot but you never know.

Still has the hump and it has the cross member. Can you post a picture of this reverse back drive linkage?

It's the linkage from the column, through a pivot point on the frame, to where the reverse lever on the transmission.
