Since I had Covid in November 2022. Constant ringing, plus Im constantly popping my ears (squeeze nose and close mouth and blow) to get rid of the water-in-the-ear sensation.
Just saw this thread. I guess I am lucky I don't have Tinnitus as many people with lack of hearing do. I am about 70 percent deaf, so wear hearing aids. My hearing aid tech says that hearing aids can help with Tinnitus too. So if you are hard of hearing also, hearing aids might help. But I imagine most of you have had your hearing checked.
I have had it for 30 years in one ear. It has recently changed a bit so occasionally the pressure changes and I get liked an electrical zap in the ear when I touch it. I got tinnitus when I got Ménières disease.

LONG COVID. = Try nicotine gun or the nicotine patch
Wow, never thought I would see this topic on this site!
I have had tinnitus since the early 90s, I attribute it working on the family farm and being exposed to all kinds of loud noise. I am flabbergasted to see so many others on this site have the same symptoms as me, I thought I was unique with this issue.
Mine is a higher pitched noise and if I clench my jaw, it will amplify the noise and pitch. I learned long ago to live with it. I have went to see an audiologist and they say my hearing is fine.
If I am catching a cold, it will be louder and sometimes it will just become loud and then fade off back to regular volumes. I think one of my ways of dealing with it is I just ignore it and dont concentrate on it. I did when I was younger.. and now I learned to live with it.

I could have written every word above exactly as you did other than mine is from loud music as a kid. Clenched jaw, high pitch, colds make it worse, increases then fades away etc, all exactly the same as mine. The fan beside my head at night for the noise is a lifesaver.
