Ahhh Parchment !

For my 69 2+2, I ordered all 1969 Impala parts for my seats from Classic Industries.

When the parts arrived, I took the seat covers out to prevent creases but I never unpacked anything hard.

The gentleman doing the seats called me this week to say that the hard stuff doesn't match.

The seat backs were ordered separately so this was not a one-time mistake.

Looks like different manufactures have different ideas of "Parchment" no006a.jpg

On the bottom of the picture below, is an original 1969 seat cover.

Middle is PUI

Top is Legendary, hard plastic.

I got my white interior for the 65 Beaumont from legendary and it was good. I have ordered the white interior for the 66 from PUI this time  hoping all will be good

PUI and Legendary both have a similar color on their parchment vinyl and both are too "goldish" compared to original but they look nice regardless. both are also too hard compared to the factory material which had a softer almost leather feel. The major difference with PUI and Legendary is that Legendary has deeper pleating while PUI has a flatter look once installed especially compared to the factory material. No repro companies do the parchment color properly on the hard plastic stuff. The factory hard plastic was bang on to the vinyl. Only way to get it right now on plastic repro stuff is to spray a two part system from a company in the US but it's big money (a few hundred bucks just to get enough paint to do the seat backs, skirts, arm rest bases etc. I don't have the name in front of me know but I can go get the name off of a can if someone wants it.

This is an interesting discussion. About 15 years ago I used PUI for the interior and have been quite impressed with the quality and comparison to original. The parchment color is nearly identical as well.

My interior kit for the 66 Beaumont just arrived. At a glance it looks like it matches vey well. When I get some time I will look a little closer. On a side note it only took 6 weeks to get the PUI interior, it was over a year for the legendary interior for the  65
