Clint, are you thinking this is the ignition module or a voltage regulator? This is the voltage regulator and I'm wondering if it was included with K66 or was separate. I can't find it in the order guide for 1966, although K66 ignition is listed in there.

Interesting. That's what I was wondering. It's odd the order guide says nothing about it being on there if you order the big alternator but that sure makes sense.
He had his radio unit under the hood? I see it on the heater box I think?

Ok, I wondered. I was thinking the engine heat would be awful hard on a radio. But for that matter, even an inverter too, it would get pretty hot in the engine bay sitting on the heater box.

My late friend was a commercial welder and electronics distributor, his work van had a small welder permanently mounted under the hood, ran off a 150 amp alternator.
