Rejuvenating old original paint

The paint on my 65 skylark was oxidized and had dull patches. It was always stored inside and waxed periodically but it was looking old. So I had to Wash it several times to remove the wax. Then I went at it with the maguiars #7 show car glaze. I watched the video by Mike Phillips for instructions first. Applied a liberal amount of polish and then rubbed it in and applied another thick layer over it and let it set for 24 hours before rubbing it down and removing it. Happy with the results on the 58 year old paint. Forgot to get a before pic.

X2. A real beauty and it came up great.

Now blow out those crevices then take it for a drive. I've also used WD-40 under the back window moulding but would also use a leaf blower if it weren't so annoying and questionable, as in behaviour.

Man that's a beautiful Skylark.  Every time I see pics of it I am blown away.  Needless to say I love original old cars.

Love the colour combination and if I ever pursue owning something other than a Pontiac one of those would be right near the top of my wanted list. Love those Skylarks.

Great job. Car looks excellent. I've always loved the styling of the 65 Buick A bodies. I had a 65 Special once and almost got my hands on a white on red Skylark like this one.

Agree with Carl. I'd have one of these if I could. It's my favorite next to the 65 Chevelle/Beaumont.

I first saw this car in 86 when I started at the dealership. I tried several times to buy it over the years . It only took 33 years ,sometimes you just have to be patient.
