A friend of mine was interested and had me run the VIN. It's an Oshawa built Sport Coupe with a 400 that is likely a real GTO. You'd need GMVVS docs to know for sure. Owner is apparently flexible on price. Needs floor and trunk work etc. Not of fan of those who threaten to scrap if not sold though. This one does have the correct 73 GTO hood
Complete car. Needs full restoration but has solid frame and running driving powertrain. Make an offer but price is firm, or ideally trade for enclosed used trailer. Vehicle will be going to scrap in the spring of 2024.
I'll say that's a factory optioned GTO, to fake one with that hood and grille, almost impossible plus door panels are correct and no evidence of Lemans Sport badging or holes. Plus Todd you confirmed 400 and Oshawa build so that's rare in itself and standard GTO. Add in 73 only second year GTO was built in Oshawa. GMVVS docs not needed imo but desireable.
I don't even remember seeing those cars around when new, just Le mans Sport Coupes. They were a rare sighting. I do remember seeing a rusty, faded original Florentine Red 455 GTO Sport Coupe in Mississauga back in '87. It still had the 455 C.I.D. decals on the fenders & a black & red belt-line stripe, plus 15x7 Rally II wheels.
