Not sure how anything Government related can be fast. LOL. Glad you got it though. Hope you got snow tires for it as well.

For us non-BC'ers, what are you talking about re waiting for approval for collector car insurance?

Here in Alberta I just call my insurance company, give them the VIN and my credit card info. They email me my pink slip, even if I haven't purchased the car yet.

Collector car insurance is heavily discounted $ with restricted usages. No commuting to a workplace, no trailer towing, no campers on collector plated trucks. Last time I checked coverage with approval was $275/ year? There is also allowance for modified collector vehicles as well.

Same thing here with collector car insurance, but there is no waiting.   Just call the insurance company with the VIN and my credit card.

What approval are you guys waiting for?

In B.C. they require photos of the vehicle inside and out from all angles as well as the engine bay to confirm the current condition of the vehicles body panels, upholstery and mechanicals. No rust, rips tears or non stock or missing components in the engine bay. The wait is for a human to review the submitted photos prior to approval. They are very thorough so it takes time.

Also need an appraisal done (was about 240.00 a few years back) Ends up about 300 a year for full replacement value and you have the assessment to prove it.
