Longest you've lived at 1 dwelling?

Was just over at dad's and realized he's been in the same house for 75 years!!!!! Moved there when he was 7 and bought the house from his mom. Then I was born and raised in the same house and never moved! This is my second owned house I'm in now and will be 24 years in May. Think I saw a survey where the average home owner moves every 7 years.

We have been in our present house for 36 years now. Have thought about moving but the real estate fees, lawyer fees, property transfer fees etc. make it very unlikely that I will do it soon. Yes BC means bring cash!

Wow, we have been in place here since November '88 so 35 years!

Right now I am tasked with emptying a storage unit that was filled with the contents of my parent's house where they stayed for 37 years. One can really accumulate stuff without any real desire to do so. I'm drowning...

Mom and Dad moved into their house Sept 1951. After Dad passed in 2016 mom stayed on till 2019 when her mobility failed and she sold the family home. Quick math tells me 68+ years. We are in our downsized 4th house 13 years now. First house was 3 years, then 13 yrs at #2, 18 yrs at#3.

32 years in the same place in Regina.... Having a cabin to go to makes the thought of moving go away.

Our house is 46 years old.

We have lived here for 26 of those years.

The former owner, Mr McMillan was only here for 10 years.

The neighbours still know it as the McMillan house.

I guess he is just a more popular man.

What can I say, he is a great guy !

He built a nice shop for me biggrin

My wife is the original tenant in our apartment complex in 1976.

We were married in 79 and had a 2 bedroom ground level floor unit. Many years later a 3 bedroom ground floor became available

Not counting the flat we were in when "living in sin" we had a semi in suburban London for 6 years then moved to our current centre of the universe, now 40 years come Easter. Because of all the hassle mentioned by others (not to mention the monetary cost), after we moved in I said; "That's it, we're here forever, not doing that again."

Bought our first house (3 bedroom bungalow on 1/3 acre) in Thornhill, Ontario (hwy #7 and Yonge St - later joined Richmond Hill)

in Jan 1973 and stayed 33 1/2 years. Moved to Goderich (Ontario's West Coast) in summer 2006.

Included in the move was our 68 Triumph motorcycle we bought in 1971 when in our apartment in Willowdale (still have the bike).

In 1973 there was a sign northbound at hwy 7 and Yonge stating "YOU ARE ENTERING GETAWAY COUNTRY" friends used to say

"....why did you move so far out of the city???....no  and that's what we did again in 2006......biggrin.

And then there are the stories of the soldiers that were in hiding for 60 years because they didn't know the war was over.
