Had a great visit today with Randy and Kevin. As a parting gift, Randy handed me a decent 69 AM radio and an original 69 top switch. Thanks Randy.
So who is the best in Canada to send this radio to for some new AM/FM guts with bluetooth? That's the plan. Get a nicely converted radio with some good speakers into the 69 Ragtop.
So just How do they manage the control between AM and FM and aux on a AM radio face with only Vol, tune and tone controls?
A friend of mine here in Edmonton does it. Hes doing my radio in my 68 come spring. He said it will still look like a stock AM radio. He rebuilds all old radios even tube type. If youre interested let me know and Ill get you his information.

Heres an alternative method for better music without forking out lots of cash. I just bought one and installed today, fits easily in the glovebox. Put some low profile speakers behind the rear seat and it cranks them up very loud and no distortion. Pairs to your phone and you can play your own playlists. Next will be a 3D printed box to fit in the ashtray to hold the charging ports so I can keep my phone charged https://a.co/d/8eQMINz

By any chance, did he take over from Bill Muller?
Some twenty years ago I brought my then recently purchased AM/FM radio for him to fine tune - I met him at his residence, and if I recall correctly, he was in the process of retiring.
He was a really nice guy, and luckily for me (and my wallet at the time) my radio was in really good shape - it just needed some fine tuning.

This is what I have intended to get for my car - that way the radio is left stock, and it adds a lot of versatality to the factory radio.

This looks very promising. I could use my SirriusXM or IHeart radio apps from my phone to it. Fit two decent speakers up under the dash and away you go.

/\ /\ please look at the redi-rad before you buy that one - even if to only compare the two.
Even if you have a phone without a headphone jack, you can get a chord that essentially adds it back via the charging port - and the redi-rad is a cleaner install - and it's made by a Pontiac-guy.

It appears as though the web page has changed (but maybe I cant find the link right now because I am using mobile/safari instead of my desktop) - I am reading the following right now when I click the link on my phone:
AM models will operate with battery voltage ranging from 6 to 15 volts DC. A positive-ground option is available for the AM design.

I just did mine for 1965 with these guys www.woodradios.com/
Did full conversion for all modern stuff and for modern speakers (however placed in the original center spots on the front and back), controlled with an App, bluetooth, microphone, FM, USB, Aux etc. Just installed it, working fine.
