Yes a three speed. It would be interesting to know what transmission is in it. The midsize big block Pontiacs of that era used the Dearborn (Ford) three speed because GM didnt have a three speed transmission with high enough torque rating. I know that Pontiac, Olds and Buick used the Ford transmission in their midsize big block cars and Chevrolet used the Borg Warner three speed. I think the Muncie heavy duty three speed came out in 1968.
Yes, if it's original it will be that Ford 3 speed. I parted out a 66 2+2 421 4 barrel 3 speed car around 1980 and that is what was in it. 3 speed with tach and gauges, red on red. Yet another bonehead parting-out of mine....
