I still got it!!!!!

After nearly 1 1/2 yrs being retired I decided to get a part time job. There was several factors but the main one(and I am not complaining)is my wife is now working 4 days a week from home and the other day she goes out to work-it was only 3 days a week prior to Christmas-even though she has a home office I cannot run the air compressor in my attached garage as it is too loud inside etc etc-she has many zoom calls during the day-so i can't go downstairs and make a racket trying to fix something-it has been 34 years since my last job interview-I have had lots of friends wanting me to work for them-be it a machine shop or tree work etc the past 18 months -I sent in a resume to a place  to see if they were hiring-the lady was on holidays and said she would get back to me when she returns-last Monday she contacts me for an interview-and hired me right on the spot(had to wait for a police check though-lol)-so I work 3 days a week-work by myself -which is fine doing general maintenance-great variety of work-plan is to work a few years until I am 65 then really retire for good-lol

Keep on Cruising!!!

Dave

Congrats!  Sound like a good setup. Just enough work to keep you appreciating your free time.  As much as they say the Boomers are done, people still want us because we actually have hands-on skills,  show up on time and do the work!

Dave,
You never lost it. It was just on hiatus.

Sounds like pocket change for more car parts.

Plus one on what you guys said! And you could add "problem solving abilities" to  the list of attributes.

Well Done Dave

If you enjoy, really enjoy It, then the word WORK means you have something you enjoy doing.  I believe Age as nothing to do with it.

All good comments though on an interesting subject, it comes down to what YOU really enjoy doing with your Time ( LIFE)

I retired at 58 , what a mistake, although I had no choice , my employer closed due to depleted ore reserves, I should have went looking for another 40 hour / week job right away, but I didn't.

My wife found herself a great part time job, and she comes home everyday smiling and happy !!!! . I have been domesticated guess who dose the house work.

Lots to be said about retirement.

Be Happy,  enjoy life.

Consider being a volunteer driver for The Canadian Cancer Society. Choose which days you are avaible and your time frame.
I had great trouble getting up early so I opted for a shift from 1. 00
PM
Usually 1 rider sometimes 2.

Flexible as well, had to put Feb on hold as  my wife's doctors appointments took priority.
