Average would be about 34 depending on the length. Story songs tend to be a bit longer than average songs.

Ok, so you have a total of 4 listeners, divided by 2 hours so if each listener would contribute 8-9 ideas for songs that would cover a whole show??? biggrin

Seriously though, I was thinking how much fun it would be if sometime you had to play a full 2 hours of music that you don't like. Particular artists you don't like, styles of music you don't like (I believe disco falls into that category), bands you don't like, themes you don't like, etc.

I have to admit it would be pretty amusing. (i am pretty self indulgent in this show for sure.) The only problem is that i usually use my own  collection for this and I generally don't buy stuff I don't like, so not sure where I'd get this. Might be worth a try though so I'd be open to some suggestions and Ill try to put some stuff together.

Is there a way to pull music off the internet? I find Spotify has almost everything I can think of.

Other types that just came to mind are rap, punk rock, screamo etc. I can't imagine you liking that stuff much and haven't heard you play any of it.

Is there any particular ethnic music you dislike? The sky is the limit there!

I know you've done some comedy stuff but I can't recall, did you do an entire show devoted to comedy tunes? I was watching the Smothers Brothers on Carson the other night and realized how classic that was. I know you like them and played them recently. There must be other comedy teams out there who sang?

Another fun one again tonight Ken. And as many times as I've listened to Taxi, I don't think I've ever heard Sequel.

i might have heard it once before myself. Had to steal it. Too bad he got killed just seven months after that came out but at least he sort of had a closure on this story.

i don't know if you we expecting Cats in the Cradle but I've just heard that song too many times, plus those two made a  good couple of bookends.

A few funny songs and maybe a few too many sad ones tonight.  dont know...

I hadn't even thought of Cats in the Cradle to be honest! But I came in with very few expectations because I've learned, the songs I think of for your theme are WAY too common! You excel at finding the stuff I've never heard of!

It was a great mix tonight, don't beat yourself up about too many sad ones.

Not a hockey fan, don't have tv other than Netflix so I guess I'm stuck listening to your show again!

Not the Bobbie Gentry song i had assumed!  but still good.   You do have a gift for finding the lesser known songs.  Guess thats what make the show so good.   None of the solid repetition blasting from the speakers at work all day long.

Aside from a bit of a hiccup with the DJ being mean near the start of the show, it was another great 2 hours Ken. Best part was no poetry! LOL

Some familiar stuff and as always some way out in left field stuff (for me with the limited knowledge of music) which makes it so much fun.

Uh-oh, no teaser thread here from Ken this week. Remember he said last Monday "This might be my last show because I'm going to the dentist tomorrow"?  Maybe he really didn't survive the dentist's chair nobiggrin

You stumped shazam with a song often played by our defunct cky580 AM. Mood jga jga(took me awhile to find correct spelling). I cant remember the title tho. I guess the guess who connection made it popular on thier playlist. Cant be found on iTunes either.

Yeah Actually forgot to do a blurb today. Sounds like you guys got something out of it anyway!  Sure do enjoy dredging that stuff up. Some great and some not-so-great material back then.

Today was an excellent show (seems like I always say that) with yet again some not-so-common stuff to even us old guys. And it gave me a bunch of new ones to add to my Spotify library.
