That is what I would call a survivor. We forget how long ago that car was built, and how long it has been since these cars were common.
I was looking with a little derision at that large red offset light on the tailgate, but then it said something about Switzerland in it's past and I realized it has something to do with fog light regulations there. Kind of like Volvos and Audis with their fog lights on, they also have an intense tail light that makes it appear like brake lights are on continually. They kick in with the fogs.
I had seen a factory V6 4-speed LeMans wagon, a '78, somewhere in the distant past. I also remember hearing a radical '79 Malibu wagon in Scarborough with a gear-drive and lumpy, high idle, a monster tach and who knows what else.
