Phew, 2 day carpet swap marathon is over

Hey there,

Phew, just finished a 2 day marathon of carpet swap and finally the correct one is installed instead of weird red one, console carpet is painted from red to black as well.

Manual was funny - use your previous carpet as an outline to cut out the new one, mine was cut in a weird way and didn't match, besides it was so dirty so I wouldn't risk to place it over the new one.

For making holes I used the trick I saw in one of vice grip garage clips - hot nail to pierce through so there's no flakes

While I was there I discovered a weird thing - in my black Parisienne CS it was easy to screw the nuts with whatever wrench, on this one it was a nightmare, only tiny monkey wrench or a bicycle flat wrench would work, for some nuts it was possible to rotate only a couple degrees at a time.

On that note, does anyone want a free red old carpet?

Changing carpet is no fun, Except when it's done and you drive the car barefoot.

It was fun to drive a car barefoot when there was a tornado warning and the car was placed diagonally and I had to get the other car into garage and the Parisienne had no seats or gas pedal:)

Now finally disassembled and painted door panels as well. Ugly red is finally gone... At least from the fabric parts for now. While I was there put a couple new felts and fixed drivers panel position.

On that note a question - is there any way to replace outer felts without taking the glass off?

It is possible, I was able to do it by bending the bumper stop that the glass that it rests on when it's fully down. It won't totally clear the access to the screws on the felt but you can get at them. May have to loosen or remove the rear channel as well.
