I just realized I have a corner light out and its an old GE1195 bulb. Has anyone swapped to a modern equivelant or is it better to stick to the original.
LEDs are brighter, cooler, and draw less power, but youd want to switch both sides so they match. I did my dash lights this winter.

Howdy Don, thanks for the info I somehow missed this one!
I tried to use the led's but the darn Bonnevilles dash has over a dozen and they just would not stay tight in the sockets lol so I threw in the towel and stuck the long life 194's in there. However all the outside lights are LED's and buy do they make a difference in brightness and draw on the system.
Thanks a bundle for the info Bob, I did end up swapping the flasher to an electronic even though for some reason with the led bulbs I did not get the dreaded hyperflash oddly enough. The new flasher is excellent though thanks for the heads up!
Personally I hate the lighting that led bulbs give in classic cars. Too bright, wrong colors, poor diffusion, the list goes on. I'd stick with originals.
